Riffle Deer season has arrived. Tomorrow and Friday there will be a line of trucks loaded down with four wheelers and camping gear, not to mention beer. So as always I implore every one to be safe out there, that means you.Every year we hear off accidents, injuries and often deaths that could have been avoided. I personally have had I patients that I car for over 20 years die or have life changing serious injuries. So here are some tips from a Chiropractor/Hunter. Take your time before, during, and after the hunt. What I am saying here is make sure your weapon is safe, sighted in and functioning well. Make sure your hunt site is safe and easy to get to. Have a good path to your stand; make sure your stand is functioning well. The straps to the stand are new. The bolts are strong etc. Ensure that someone knows where you are hunting and exactly where you are hunting. If you use a four wheeler have it serviced. Park it somewhere safe and secure. When you do shoot that big buck track it safely on your ATV. Several years ago we had a local hunter flip his ATV on a hill and break his neck, he died. He was no green horn, he had hunted for years. This simple ATV accident can happen to anyone.Drinking, don’t do it while you’re hunting. If you need help getting your deer out of the woods don’t be a hero, get some help.
