You may have sacroiliitis.  It’s very painful and effects men and women both.  Patients often complain of deep stabbing and aching pain.  This pain is worsened by standing, bending, walking and often prolonged car rides.  The condition can become chronic and patients can suffer from this for years.

Chiropractic care can be very helpful.  The key to great treatment is proper diagnosis.  This can be done with a good chiropractic and orthopedic examination.  In some cases the use of advanced diagnostics are needed.

Chiropractic care is often in the form of adjusting the fixated sacro iliac joint as well as reducing the inflammation in the joint with cryotherapy and home care.  Many times in our office the condition is co-treated with the patient’s primary care physician whom prescribes an anti-inflammatory medication. 

Very rarely the patient made need an injectable anti-inflammatory agent.  Also in rare cases we have the patient wear a trochanter belt to help normalize the right and left sacroiliac joints.  This is very helpful but many patients do not like to wear the belt for a long time.
